ABOUT THE Data Engineer INTERN POSITION
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will join a team of Architects and engineers to work on a global strategic initiative to make better use of our Reinsurance data and enhance our ability to make data-driven decisions.
You will help the team design, develop, and execute complex analytic solutions that will transform the insurance industry. You will gain exposure to a project that is leveraging cutting-edge technology that applies Big Data and Machine Learning to solve new and emerging problems for the Swiss Re Reinsurance business.
Skills Required For Swiss Re Internship Drive 2023
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
- Proficient in Python and SQL. Familiarity with PySpark and Spark SQL is a plus
- Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Spark/Hive/Hadoop) is a plus
- Experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS a plus
- Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure is a plus
- Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness is a fast learner
- Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment
- Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the big picture
- Excellent oral and written English skills
