Company was started in a garage in Gaiwadi, Girgaon, Mumbai by four friends Champaklal Choksey, Chimanlal Choksi, Suryakant Dani and Arvind Vakil.
They all belong to Jain families, and founded the company in February 1942. During World War II and the Quit India Movement of 1942, a temporary ban on paint imports left only foreign companies and Shalimar Paints in the market.

Eligibility Criteria for Asian Paints Off Campus Drive 2022:
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation from top ranked engineering institution of India
50% & above marks in Academics all over (10th /12th /Graduation)
Knowledge in Maintenance of pumps , heat exchangers , Motors ; Measurement techniques & calibration.
Basic engineering such as Alignment , Vibration measurement , P&ID , Preparation of BOM ,Cost
Job Description:
Adherence to laid down system and process to Safety, Environment and Quality
Preparation of Budget for own work area
Adherence to Annual Maintenance Contract, Preventive & predictive maintenance Schedule, Statutory Schedule, Calibration Schedule
Shutdown Planning
Management of Spares
Development of New vendors
Adherence to Purchase process
Development of solution for energy saving , Improvement of Productivity , reduce fatigue etc
Planning and execution of Projects in time
