The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India’s central banking institution, which controls the monetary policy of the Indian rupee.
History of RBI :
It commenced its operations on 1 April 1935 during the British Rule in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
Structure :
The original share capital was divided into shares of 100 each fully paid, which were initially owned entirely by private shareholders. Following India’s independence on 15 August 1947, the RBI was nationalised on 1 January 1949.
The RBI plays an important part in the Development Strategy of the Government of India. It is a member bank of the Asian Clearing Union

Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Officers Grade B (DR) – General:
Candidates must qualify Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with minimum 60% of marks from a recognized University/ Institute. (55% of marks is enough for reserved category candidates).
Officers Grade B (DR) – DEPR:
Candidates must possess Master’s Degree with a minimum 55% marks in Economics/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Mathematical Economics/ Integrated Economics Course/ Finance
Officers Grade B (DR) – DSIM:
Candidates should possess Master’s Degree with a minimum 55% marks in any of these – Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay or Master’s Degree in Mathematics with 1 Year post-graduate diploma in Statistics or Masters in Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) of ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with minimum 55% marks
Age Limit: As on 01-01-2021
Candidates age must be in between 21 to 30 years as on 01-01-2021. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates.
Selection Process:
Selection will be through Phase-I, Phase-II online tests and interview.
Phase-I: Phase-I online examination will be of 200 marks. Time Duration is 2 hours.
