About the internship
Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Especially, Seeking out new sales opportunities actively through cold calling, networking, net meeting, and other sources
- Scheduling and following up on generated leads and client meetings
- Preparing and supporting online presentations to potential customers
- Generally, Conducting market research to identify possibilities & evaluate customer needs
- Likewise, Negotiating/Closing deals & handling complaints or objections
- Gathering feedback from customers or prospects and sharing it with the internal team whilst tracking product and service deliveries
- Likewise, Building and maintaining good business relationships with customers to encourage repeat purchases
- Understanding and promoting the company’s products with excellent strategies
- Hence, Closing sales and achieving sales targets
- Finally, Preparing weekly or monthly reports and maintaining client records
Skill(s) & Qualification required for Business Development
- Any Graduate or post graduate with essential skills.
- Whether it is seeing new ways existing opportunities could be developed, or finding completely new routes to market, creative thinking is essential for the role.
- For business development, however, this creativity must be built on the bedrock of an analytical mind.
- You will need to obtain support from senior management, marketing, finance and product or service teams.
- Communication skills will gain you a foot through the door – but having negotiation skills will ensure the door is kept opened for future growth.
- It’s a balancing act, you’ll have to juggle organizing other team’s workload as well as your own, but you welcome the challenge.
- Business development sits at the intersection between marketing and sales, but it also reaches into new product or service development.
