WELCOME TO THE XRP LEDGER HACKATHON 2021!

XRPL – is a decentralized, permissionless, open-source blockchain that anybody can contribute to, develop on, and transact on.

The XRP Ledger was the first blockchain to allow the tokenization of assets. Regardless of whether the assets are fiat, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, or other forms of tokens, the XRP Ledger’s built-in tokenization functionality and built-in decentralized exchange make it ideal for developers to add the decentralized management of tokens to their applications.

This hackathon is open to all developers to explore, discover, and build on the XRP Ledger. You can use any of the SDKs and APIs for the XRP Ledger, both in production and on testnet. 

We also encourage you to test out and use the new Hooks smart contract functionality in development by XRPL Labs. They have their own testnet you can use.

XRPL Hackathon 2021 REQUIREMENTS

What to build: Build (or update) software applications that interact with the XRP Ledger.

  • Bonus: Include functionality of NFT and/or Hooks into your Project to be eligible for Bonus prizes. 

What to submit:

  • All submissions must include a demonstration video of the entry
  • All submissions must identify if they included functionality of NFT and/or Hooks to be eligible for a bonus prize.
  • Must provide a URL to Project’s Open Source code repository.
  • Optional – Provide a link to their project working on the below platforms:
    • a web app (mobile or desktop)
    • a mobile device (APK or testlight)

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Technological Implementation
    Does the interaction with the XRP Ledger demonstrate quality software development?
  • Design
    Is the user experience and design of the project well thought out?
  • Potential Impact
    How big of an impact could the project have on XRP Ledger users?
  • Quality of the Idea
    How creative and unique is the project?
