Treasure Hacks
Treasure Hacks will follow the typical formatting of online hackathons. Students in groups of up to four, are to come up with a project of any type and come up with a working solution using programming. Our hackathon is open to a wide skill range from high schoolers with no programming knowledge to others with advanced programming knowledge.
DEADLINE:
Oct 15 – 18, 2021
REQUIREMENTS:
All projects must be submitted before 8:00 AM PST on October 18th.
If your app isn’t complete or has a few unfinished parts, we are still happy to accept these works. Any attempts towards creating something innovative are welcome.
Projects should be new and not previously worked on.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Creativity
Has this idea/solution been created already, is it a new idea to an old problem? Does the project bring innovation to design to create comfortable user experiences? (Worth 40 Points)
Practicality
Could this idea actually be implemented in real life? Would people be motivated to use it? Is it a functioning solution that can scale in the real world? How well does the project serve its purpose? (Worth 30 Points)
Engineering Excellence
Does the code solution run well? Does their project stand as an end-to-end project? Is their code well documented? Does the code uses sophisticated or multiple (python + html, etc.) techniques? (Worth 20 Points)
Presentation
How is the project presented? Is it in an aesthetically pleasing format? (Worth 10 Points)
